Site to ssmeetsit blog Today, block H presented projects about different thing on the U.N. My topic was U.N. Governance. Some things I learned from other students, is that many people in the U.N. are trying to stop poverty and discrimination. There were a lot of pictures of the projects showing that you would see military power in different countries helping all of the people so they could get better lives. What I really found shocking is that not only humans are being hurt by other people; also many different animals are getting killed like sharks or whales for only one part of the body. I really hope for this to stop because also children are being hurt and I can’t bear seeing that. Also the pictures showed horrific scenes of people dying…..
Maybe what I could do better next time is to maybe make an i-Movie so there could be music and everything goes automatically and you can put in the narration by yourself. Also I will have worked more on the project because the project didn’t really say anything about “who is involved?” or any clear information like that.

How are your two events connected?
The two events are connected because in both Haruka’s and my current event, there are car bombings, but Haruka’s is in a food market and mine is in an attack base. Also both of the car bombings were in Iraq. Another thing is that both of the two forces in both the events don’t have good relationships, so that’s why there are car bombings.
What did you find interesting about this topic?
I thought Haruka’s topic was interesting because I don’t know why people would attack a food market, but Haruka clearly stated it was because of the two different religions. Haruka also said that the bombers also bombed a police station clearly because then when after they do all the bombings there wouldn’t be enough police men to stop them. This shows that the bombers are very smart and you don’t want to mess with them.
What did you like about the initial blog posting?
What I liked about Haruka’s posting is that she really would want to help the people who were injured, and who couldn’t help so this shows that Haruka is actually a very nice person willing to help people in danger. I also like that she first showed the pictures so youcan have a vague idea of what happened, in the picture it showed that so many people were looking around for missing things which they couldn’t replace. Such as all the food they were selling, or all the things that help make food better.
No, I don’t think the U.N. is preventing global terrorism well enough, and their way of solving this problem isn’t good because you can’t just sweet talk terrorists into not killing people anymore. This problem could be solved better if the U.N. takes immediate action with the military forcing the terrorists to surrender, that way the terrorists would think twice about trying to kill a person or rob. This way not many people will die anymore and no more people will get hurt. Sweet talk won’t work because the terrorists don’t fear the U.N. and if they don’t fear the U.N. they will keep on killing, that’s why the U.N. must bring military force into terrorist crimes.

•1. What is the issue?
The issue is that nine US soldiers have been killed and 20 troops have been injured by a suicide car bombing. The soldier where killed in a new attack base north of Baghdad. US military said that a suicide car bomber attacked a patrol base near Baqouba, the capital of Diyala Province, on Monday. 15 of the wounded soldiers were able to return to work.

•2. Who is involved?
The people who are involved are the people who died, UN, Iraq, and the bomber.

•3. Who is affected and how?
The wounded are affected because they have been hurt and might not be able to work up to their expectations, Iraq is affected because it was such a sudden attack that now many different nations team-up and try to take away Iraq’s leader, the US is affected because now their men might start to fear Iraq and become shocked by such sudden attacks, and the UN is affected because maybe the US is going to riot and make sudden moves that will hurt their reputation.
•4. What would you do if you were directly involved?
What I would do is to try and calm down the US and try to form peace with Iraq so there is no more bloodshed and no more pain, and death. How I would do that is ask what Iraq wants and try to sustain their needs and so they don’t want to fight anymore so there will be no more bloodshed and pain. Peoples lives will be impacted because now the citizens of Iraq must maybe have a curfew. This would make the citizens angry and they may rebel against the US which would make another enemy.
In the presentations today I heard a lot of interesting facts, like King Tut was only 9 when he got the crown, and that King Zoser was the first builder of the step pyramid. It was fun listening to all the facts but I found it a little depressing that not many people brought costumes. Also I found out that most of the kings of Egypt had more than one wife, and sometimes over a 100 children, where only one got the crown. There was also a king that was a doctor first and became the pharaoh. I noticed that Sekhmet is the same goddess as Hathor only that Sekhmet turned into Hathor after drinking beer and wine. Maybe if there was another time with a project like this, I might study more because I felt that I was repeating the same fact over and over again like “I, king Khufu built the great pyramid of Giza.” I thought the lesson today was a lot of fun and I learned a lot of different facts.
Do you want to know who built the great pyramid of Giza? I, King Khufu built the pyramid at Giza. My father was Sneferu, and my mother is Queen Herepheres. My successor was Djedefre. I was mostly known for building the great pyramid of Giza and I will tell you all about that accomplishment. In my life I’ve done amazing things and I’ve lived in amazing places. I’m the great king Khufu, builder of the great pyramid of Giza. I was also the second king of the 4th dynasty! I live in Dahsur with my father until he died. I was in my twenties when I first got the crown and lived for about 45 years in 2600 B.C. Who I was helped me build the most important thing in my life.
During my life I built one of the Seven Wonders of the World. I’m the oh so mighty king Khufu who built the great pyramid at Giza! During the building I didn’t use slaves to build the pyramid for me but I used worker who would work for food and gold. This wonder helped my people a lot.
The workers benefited from building the pyramid. My workers were happy building the pyramid because they get extra food and gold for working longer. The people also got the honor of creating one of the Seven Wonders of the World. My accomplishments helped many villagers and workers improving their lives.
The pyramid was the most important feat in my life because it changed history and improved the lives of many others. I was very happy when my pyramid was finished but shortly after that, I died. Historians have never found my body anywhere and the tomb was robbed of its contents and the only statue of me they found was very tiny, about 7.5cm tall. I, King Khufu was a very important Pharaoh for all my amazing feats and accomplishments.

Option 1: What new information has emerged?
There was only a little new information, here they are. On the 19th of August the waste was thrown away instead of being incinerated in fire. Also the company that was supposed to handle the waste increased the cost of it too something very expensive, and so it wasn’t possible to give the waste to that company. After that the
Ivory Coast didn’t have a place to unload the wastes.
What did you find tnteresting about this topic?
I found this topic was interesting because the
Ivory Coast shouldn’t let the people die for nothing. They would have to find a company who can handle the wastes with care so the people will not die anymore.
What did you like about the Initial blog posting?
What I liked about the blog posting was that Hanna used a lot of pictures showing how the people suffered from the wastes. Hanna also had enough information to support the current event. She also had a good map showing who its neighbors are.

- What is the issue?
In Madrid, the capital of Spain, a trial has now begun because of the bombing in March 2004 where 191 people were killed. There were more than 1700 people that were injured in the attacks. 7 of the 29 suspects were accused of murder, and the 22 other suspects were involved because they were handling in explosives. Also it was a terrorist attack and most of the terrorists were from Morocco. Seven of the key suspects committed suicide in a raid of a flat three weeks later. Two of those seven people, Jamal Zougam and Abdelmajid Bouchar, are actually accused of planting explosives.
2. Who is involved?
The people that are involved are the 29 suspects, the 191 people who died, and the people that were injured.
3. Who is affected and how?
The government is affected because they will get a lot of arguments with the people about safety with trains. The people that were injured were affected because they might be disabled for life and can’t do as many things as people who aren’t disabled. Also, the family members of the people who died because they would have lost a loved one and they might be emotionally scarred for life.

4. What would you do if you were directly involved?
I think that the best solution to the bombing is to have police on the trains, outside the train station, and police in helicopters above the place to see that there won’t be any air attacks. The people’s lives would be impacted because now they will not want to go with the train anymore and start going by bus or car. They also might have to work harder for more money because the person who worked might have died. I would also try to calm the people by saying that they would be safe if they just find out if there are a lot of police guarding the train.

What would you change about the final product (the wiki you created) if you were to do the assignment again?
I would change the wiki so it had more pictures and that I would have more background information about the subject. Also I’m going to encourage my partners a lot and make sure that they get there work done. Then I would also work more outside school, research more, and have more fun with it. Kongo Kingdom- block H
I liked the group’s way of organizing all their information and the way they group their pictures. This was a very good group because they had a lot of information about the major things, like some other groups didn’t have enough info about religion, communication, etc. Also this group was very organized and has a lot of good titles.

I liked this group’s pictures because there is a good picture for welcoming the visitor and they have a good map of the area. They also have cool buttons that they use for links. This really helps because it catches the visitors’ eyes so they will explore more. Anyway this group did a very good job.
